My name is Donnie Thompson. I am a Professional Power lifter in the WPO. When a back injury sidelined me for a very big competition, I had to do something to keep that from happening again. As fate had it, I went from one of the top lifters in the world to not being able to walk for eleven days. I started using Russian Kettlebells about a year and a half ago. A friend of mine convinced me to try them after some time. I read Pavel's book, ''Russian Kettlebell Challenge''!

My name is Sarah Godwin ( Richmond ). I’ve been a runner for 8 years. My running has improved a lot over the years because I have been combining it with lots of strength training i.e. weights, machines, etc.

 

Recently I’ve been looking for a bit of a challenge from my old routine as I need to progress and wanted to become stronger and leaner.

 

I first came across Kettlebells in my gym, I saw one of the trainers (Svetlana) working out with them and it was amazing. I approached Svetlana and asked her for advice and since then I have trained with Kettlebells.

 

It’s an amazing tool, my running has improved because my legs have become stronger. I feel stronger all round and every time I finish my session I feel like I have run a half marathon. Great fat burner. Great for your posture and the key thing for me is that its improving my core (I need to have a strong one for my running)

 

I’m very pleased with Kettlebell training and I shall continue to train with Svetlana in my weekly sessions.

As someone who has always tried to keep fit and tried to work out regularly an injury to my knee whilst learning to ski last season resulted in my needing an intensive course of physio. Having finished my course of treatment I found myself feeling fed up, lacking motivation and out of shape.

 

I have always prided myself on the fact that I attended a gym, but with a wedding looming in 2007 I found myself for the first time bored by exercise and fitness and needing to lose excess pounds. It was for these reasons I commenced training with Svetlana.

 

The training is unlike any other I have ever done before and engages parts of your body you just would never have thought. Once familiar with the lifting technique I was amazed by the exercises asked of me and the size of the weight I was able to lift. The exercise regime engages all muscles in your body and is challenging for the cardiovascular system and leaves you feeling like you have had a “real work out!”

 

I have already seen results which include loss of body fat and an increase in stamina and flexibility and for the first time in my life I am pleased to start to see muscle tone and definition. I feel fitter and I am now managing to undertake a 45 mins run,something which I have felt unable to do for a number of years. My posture has also improved and I now always try to stand tall.

 

Svetlana is a talented and enthusiastic trainer she understands individual limitations whilst encouraging you to push yourself further. I still have a way to go to achieve my ultimate goal to lose weight and increase my strength, muscle tone and flexibility but I know Svetlana will get me there and during my journey will keep me motivated and encouraged.

I had been working with kettlebells for about a year in Australia. Recently i took an extended break from exercise and on arriving in London i sourced a location that offered training in Kettlebells, which is where i met Svetlana. My goal was to return to my fitness levels, prior to departing Australia.

I have trained in the traditional fashion, largely cardio with some resistance training, for many years and I was reasonably content with the results. However, after only three one hour KB sessions with Svetlana, I can both feel and see the difference. I already feel more stronger, I can see my muscles start to develop and I feel more energetic. After an injury prone season of rugby, I realised that my half baked fitness regime of sporadic visits to the gym with the occasional training sessions were simply not enough.. The options were simple, give up rugby or get my 34 year old carcass into some shape. The cardio and weight session at the gym weren’t doing it for me anymore so I really needed a change.
